Comments from MAIB's Executive Director Kristen Rupert......
With the recent federal stimulus bill emphasizing jobs-jobs-jobs, it’s a good time to reinforce--with media, state officials, colleagues, community members and business leaders--the message that international trade has significant economic value in the Commonwealth. In fact, 2008 was a record-setting year for product exports from Massachusetts: more than $28 Billion in goods was sent overseas from Mass.—the largest dollar amount ever. Exports and imports are responsible for thousands of jobs in Mass. And speaking of international trade success stories, please consider nominating a company for an International Trade Achievement Award. Deadline was just extended to March 27. This is a great way to publicize the good work being done by our Mass. companies. See below for details.

LAST CALL - INTERNATIONAL TRADE AWARD NOMINEES!
The Mass. Alliance for International Business (MAIB) just extended the deadline for nominations for its annual International Trade Achievement Awards to March 27. The 3 winners will receive their awards on the dais at the annual meeting of Associated Industries of Mass. (AIM) May 8, with 400 attendees expected. Winners also receive extensive media coverage, with photos and an article in AIM’s Mass. Business Magazine, circulation 13,000. To learn more, to see a list of past winners, or to nominate yourself or another worthy prospect, click on the link below or contact Kristen Rupert at 617-262-1180 or krupert@aimnet.org.
