HEINRICH CERAMIC DECAL INC. of Worcester, winner of the CHAIRMAN'S AWARD, is a leading manufacturer of printed transfers, commonly known as ceramic and glass decals. These permanent decorations can be found on collectibles, tableware, wine and spirit bottles and electrical and industrial products. In 2006, Heinrich used its technology expertise and expanded into the international marketplace by producing electronic circuit print decal products for the growing European solar energy industry. SOLUTIA'S INDIAN ORCHARD PLANT in Springfield, winner of the GLOBAL AWARD, employs 500 people and, under the Saflex name, is the world's largest producer and seller of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayers for laminated glass. Saflex-fortified windshields are used in nearly half of all vehicles produced in the world today and Saflex-fortified glass protects some of the world's most precious artifacts including the U.S. Constitution and the Mona Lisa. The Mass. Alliance for International Business, the Mass. Export Center, and the US Department of Commerce present this seminar featuring Paul Swenson, Director, Mass. Office of International Trade & Investment (MOITI), Shanghai, China. Held during the EASTEC trade show, this session will be helpful if you are sourcing in China, looking at partnering with a Chinese firm, selling to China, opening an office in China, or competing with lower-cost Chinese imports. EVENT: May 24, Thurs.--"Changes in the Swedish Political Landscape," Noon, Cambridge

The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce presents Andres J. Ericson, Press Counselor at the Swedish Embassy in Washington DC, who will discuss his perspectives on the new Swedish government and new Prime Minister, Fredrik Reinfeldt, who recently met with President Bush at the White House. EVENT: May 29, Tues.--"India: A Big Emerging Market," Noon, Springfield

The World Affairs Council of Western Mass. presents Professor Gary Lefort, Chair of the International Business Department of American International College, at this luncheon event. Last year Professor Lefort participated in a ten-day professional development program in India sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. Lefort has over 35 years of business and technical experience including 22 years of service in the U.S. Army.
