Aug. 22, Tues.--Ambassador of Mexico to the U.S., 8am, Boston
The New
England-Latin American Business Council presents a breakfast with the Honorable
Carlos de Icaza, Ambassador of Mexico to the U.S. The Ambassador will make a
presentation on Mexico's current business climate in light of its recent
presidential election. Co-sponsored by Hispanic National Bar Assn., Seyfarth
Shaw LLP, Genzyme Corporation and the Consulate of Mexico in Boston. Location is
Seyfarth Shaw LLP, 2 Seaport Lane, Suite 300, Boston. Breakfast at 8am,

Sept. 18, Mon.--WorldBoston "Celebrating the World Through the
Arts", 6pm, Boston
WorldBoston presents this 45th Anniversary Dinner, celebrating
art, music and dance across all boundaries. This evening will
showcase the influence of international culture within the Boston
community. Featuring performances by American Repertory Theatre,
Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Univ. Opera Institute, Huntington
Theatre Company and Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre, this event begins
with cocktails at 6pm and dinner/performances at 7pm. Location is
Colonnade Hotel, Huntington Ave. Single tickets $150, tables of ten

EVENT:
Sept. 27, Wed.--English for New Bostonians Forum, 8:30am, Boston
English
for New Bostonians is a public-private solution initiated by the
Mayor's Office to expand the city's capacity to meet the demand for
English classes for immigrants. With immigrants comprising 17% of
the state's workforce, the need for additional English as a Second
Language classes is critical. When workers can communicate in
English, customer service, manufacturing production, patient care
and family income are improved. Join in this discussion with Mayor
Thomas Menino; Mass. Convention Center Authority Executive Director
Jim Rooney; and other guests. Location is Bank of America, 100
Federal Street, Boston. Time is 8:30am-10am, with a light breakfast
served. Sponsored by Associated Grantmakers, Bank of America, and
Associated Industries of Massachusetts (A.I.M.). Event is free-
