Associated
Industries of Massachusetts (AIM) is pleased to present interactive
Health Care Reform Workshops that will provide you with the latest
information, insight, and practical tools to ensure your organization's
compliance with this new law.
These programs pick up where our recent
statewide series of briefings left off. The new seminars were developed
in response to requests we have received for "one more session" to fill
in regulatory and administrative blanks as compliance dates rapidly
approach. But we will go beyond simply filling in those blanks - we will
provide you with a reference binder full of information plus practical
insight and tools designed to help you conduct analysis and make plans
for your organization:
Program Content:
1. Informational Segment – a "final" update
on the employer's role as we
approach the July 1st implementation of the law :
- Section 125 Plans (must be implemented by July 1, 2007 by employers
of 11 or more)
- Health Insurance Responsibility Disclosure (HIRD) – process
and forms
- Fair Share Contribution
- Free Rider Surcharge
- For insured group plans:
- Expanded dependent eligibility
- Offer of coverage and nondiscrimination in premium contribution
- "Minimum creditable
coverage" and "affordability" issues
- Sub-Connector update – what we know about the collection and
remittance of pre-tax deductions for non-employer-sponsored health
insurance plans
2. Workshop Segment – you will receive your own Health
Care Reform Reference Guide binder – designed by AIM, with
you in mind, containing:
- Copies of all applicable regulations and insurance bulletins
- AIM's plain-language "Fact Sheets" with key points from the law
and the regulations
- Checklists that take you step-by-step through compliance procedures
and decision-making processes
- Detailed information on key compliance calculations, including the
tests for Fair Share Contribution compliance
- A model Section 125 Premium Only Plan
- A useful calendar to help you gather information and plan next
step
- Model communications to employees
- Sources for additional information
The Workshops will be conducted by AIM staff and will
allow time for your practical questions. AIM's involvement in
government affairs, combined with our HR and management expertise,
uniquely positions us to provide up-to-date information and insight as the law
continues to evolve.
Registrations will be limited due to the interactive
