In May of 2007, Eileen P. McAnneny, Esq became the Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Government Affairs for Associated Industries of Massachusetts - the state’s largest nonprofit, nonpartisan association of Massachusetts’ employers.  With more than 7,000 members who employ nearly one out of every five workers in Massachusetts, AIM’s mission is to promote the well-being of its members and the prosperity of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by improving the economic climate, proactively advocating fair and equitable public policy, and providing relevant, reliable information and excellent services.

Since 1998, Ms. McAnneny advocates on Beacon Hill for AIM's legislative agenda and manages issues of general interest to the employer community. She is primarily responsible for health care and taxation issues, in both the legislative and regulatory arenas. Ms. McAnneny staffs AIM’s Taxation and Health Care Committees and represents AIM on several health care advisory committees including the Managed Care Advisory Committee, the Medical Care Advisory Committee, the Massachusetts Healthcare Leadership Forum and the Coalition for Coverage. She also serves on the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Tax Section Council.

Prior to joining AIM, Ms. McAnneny served as Counsel to the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Taxation of the Massachusetts Senate, working for Senators Marian Walsh and Warren E. Tolman. The Taxation Committee is responsible for all legislation involving tax issues for the commonwealth. She was with the Committee for almost four years, working on several major tax initiatives, including single-sales factor apportionment for manufacturers and for the mutual fund industry, reform of taxation for the life insurance and property and casualty insurance industries, and numerous other tax issues.

Ms. McAnneny graduated with honors from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She received her law degree with honors from Suffolk University Law School in 1993.
