To restore full funding for the employer paid Workforce Training Fund for fiscal year 2010 that begins on July 1, Associated Industries of Massachusetts calls upon its members to contact the state budget conference committee and members of the Senate and House leadership,

Through an assessment on our employees, the Commonwealth collects $21 million annually for funding the Workforce Training Fund. This money is used to pay for training of incumbent workers through a training program that has been highly successful.

The House and the Governor, in their budget proposals fully funded the program; the Senate recommended funding only $10 million.

We request that the final budget, now being worked out by the committee of conference, include the full $21 million for training.

Please contact the selected officials today to ask them to support full funding for this program.

Thank you - John Regan

PS. If your company has used the Workforce Training Fund - please mention that fact in your communication to the officials identified.
