Hoisting

An Act Relative to Changing the Hoisting Law
AIM’s bill changes the state law requiring licensing for certain hoisting equipment used exclusively on company property. The legislation permits the commissioner of the Department of Public Safety to streamline current licensing requirements.

Global Warming/Legislative Oversight

An Act Enhancing the Global Warming Solutions Act
The recently enacted Global Warming Solutions Law gives wide latitude to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs and other agencies to draft regulations. There is no legislative oversight to ensure that regulations enacted on behalf of one agency do not conflict with goals of another. The AIM bill requires that regulations be submitted to the Joint Committee Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy for approval.
