An Act to Improve the Laws Relating to Ethics and
Lobbying
AIM takes the current ethics and lobbying laws very
seriously and supports appropriate standards for lobbyists. We strive to
satisfy both the letter of the law and spirit of those standards and
support efforts to ensure that all lobbyists do the same. As a
membership organization, however, we are greatly concerned about the
changes to the definitions of lobbying and incidental lobbying and the
chilling affect these changes will have on the democratic
process.
An Act Relative to Consumer Protection Laws
AIM legislation requires those seeking product-liability damages to
demonstrate that they have actually been harmed by the product. A fair
body of laws impartially interpreted with decisions reached in a timely
and predictable manner will contribute to a healthy civic and economic
climate.
An Act Relative to Reforming the State's Product
Liability System
Companies that make products are often targets of
frivolous and resource-sapping lawsuits brought by parties looking for
huge payoffs. AIM’s legislation reforms the state’s tort
system by making available a state-of-the-art defense for manufacturers
whose products meet all scientific standards at the time they were
made.
