Managing health insurance costs is a long-term and complex challenge that includes everything from plan design to partnering with brokers to employee education. It’s not something you master in a quick seminar.

AIM’s Health Care Cost Control Certificate Series provides the in-depth knowledge that you and your key people need to create sustainable savings and quality in the health coverage you provide to employees. The series outlines steps for developing your organization’s health-care strategy, and tactics for working with employees to make that strategy successful.

While these sessions together provide a comprehensive education on the effective management of health care benefits, individual sessions will cover specific aspects of health care cost management and may be taken as stand-alone courses.

Course

Class 1 | Introduction To Health Care Benefits Planning
Every organization faces the challenge of getting out from under the vicious cycle of annual health care benefits renewal. The initial session serves as an introduction to the entire series and as an excellent stand alone session for key employees.

Class 2 | Maximizing Your Broker & Carrier Relationships
A health care benefits strategy starts with choosing the right partners. In this session we will define the key services available through these partners and provide a guide for evaluating and selecting the right partner.

Class 3 | Plan Design
HMO, PPO, POS, HRA, HSA, Limited networks, tiered networks! Participants in this program will examine the features of various plans and networks and identify the design that best suits their organizations.

Class 4 | Wellness & Prevention Strategies
When it comes to health care cost control, an ounce of prevention may well be much more than a pound of cure. Learn about onsite, third party and reimbursement programs designed to improve the health of your employees.

Class 5 | Employee Education & Engagement
As more companies adopt consumer-driven health plans, the burden for driving health plan costs savings increasingly falls upon your employees. The program will identify effective methods to transition from a communication plan to an education strategy

Class 6 | Plan Administration
Identify key tactics to set goals, measure progress and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. COOs, CFOs and others involved the oversight of operations and expense management will benefit.

Health Care Fridays

Implementation of the federal Affordable Care Act in 2014 promises to make 2013 a transitional year for Massachusetts employers. AIM's Health Care Fridays, a six session webinar series, will keep you up to date with federal health care reform, changes to Massachusetts laws and regulations and best practices in effectively managing employer sponsored health plans.

These informative webinars will be held at 10 am on the second Friday of every other month, starting in February. Sign up for one, a few or all six sessions to receive AIM's practical, real-world guidance on health care design, management and compliance.
