AIM Teams with Worcester Business Journal on Manufacturing

July 22, 2018

Manufacturers: Looking to reach the work force of tomorrow?

Unfortunately, the message of rewarding career opportunities and good jobs at good wages has just not been getting through to Generation X and Y, exacerbating a work force pipeline challenge that is near the top of most manufacturers list of challenges.

Now there is an effort to change that dynamic and how tomorrow’s workforce sees manufacturing in our state - it’s called “Cool STUFF Made in MA” and we’d like to share it with you.

AIM, along with Mass Development, Mass Tech Collaborative and Mass MEP is partnering with the Worcester Business Journal to promote the many positive aspects of a career in manufacturing to future graduates and job seekers.

In 2016 the Worcester Business Journal (WBJ) published its first version of the publication for Central Massachusetts. Now in its third year, the company has made the commitment to expand the effort statewide with an East, Central and Western MA edition.  View the 2017 edition of Cool STUFF Made in Central MA; it contains a number of engaging feature stories and manufacturer profiles tailored to the student audience that ranges from middle schools, high schools and colleges as well as workforce training programs. 75,000 copies of STUFF will go out to over 1,000 schools across the state as well as to all manufacturers and top business and political leaders this fall.  While the WBJ team will produce the Central and Eastern MA editions, Business West will publish STUFF in Western MA.

Additionally, this hip magazine will be available online as a digital edition, and a STUFF website will debut this fall with the goal of engaging the student audience year round - through twice monthly emails, regular site updates plus Instagram & Facebook feeds.

We have teamed up with the WBJ and Business West in helping to promote the effort and to encourage manufacturing members to consider buying a profile in STUFF.  Participate and spread the word on the interesting products you make, the innovative technologies you work with every day and especially the fulfilling career opportunities your company provides.
